Shape was restored and architecture rebuilt: clean, accurate result without visual overload.
Zulfiya Anikanova
Nail expert, educator, championship judge, and international award winner
I have worked in this profession for over 24 years, and during that time manicure has long ceased to be just a beautiful service for me. For me, it is technical work at the level of form, architecture, natural nail understanding, and selecting the right solution for each specific case.
Over these years, I have built a strong professional foundation. I became a winner of many championships, including international ones. This experience led me to judging, where I evaluate not only aesthetics but also technical execution and professional standards.
I have spent years not only working with my hands, but building a profession around my standards and my name. I had my own salon in Donetsk, then in Kyiv, later built a private practice in Stockholm, and now continue developing my work in Ottawa-Gatineau.
My approach has never followed a one-size-fits-all formula. I assess the hand, nail condition, skin, strength, growth direction, previous technical errors, and the result that is truly correct for this client. Sometimes reinforcement is needed. Sometimes proper extensions. Sometimes architecture must be rebuilt from the ground up. Sometimes shape, length, and direction must be restored step by step.
I work with different techniques and never force every client into one convenient option for the technician. If upper forms are best for the case, we use upper forms. If lower forms are needed, we build on lower forms. If nails require reinforcement, apex correction, shape rebuilding, or post-damage recovery, I choose the method according to the task - not by template.
Material knowledge is equally essential. I do not only know manual technique; I understand product chemistry, material behavior, rigidity, elasticity, adhesion, and compatibility. In one case, one system is correct; in another, the same system can overload the nail or cause lifting.
I always select both technique and materials for a specific client and a specific objective. Sometimes aggressive systems are unacceptable. Sometimes stronger adhesion is required. Sometimes one level of rigidity is needed, sometimes the opposite. These are not minor details; they define safe, durable, high-quality work.
That is why my approach goes deeper than simply applying product neatly. I understand not only how to place material, but why it performs ideally in one situation and fails in another. This applies to both my own practice and my teaching.
Teaching is a major part of my path. I have taught for around 20 years and helped many nail artists grow professionally. I do not teach only beautiful placement or speed. I teach why one technique works and another does not.
I teach architecture. I teach work with different starting conditions. I teach confidence in complex hands and complex cases. I teach professionals to think like specialists, not just repeat a movement sequence.
In my education, it matters not only how to work with your hands, but also what to work with in each case. I teach material behavior, compatibility, rigidity, acidity, adhesion, and proper system selection for the client and the nail.
If someone comes to me as a client, they receive not a routine service, but work built on experience, attention, and a high professional standard. If someone comes for training, they receive a practical base they can apply in real work every day.
My goal is not only to make nails look beautiful. My goal is to deliver a result grounded in real technique, serious experience, and deep professional understanding.
